Scripture: Proverbs 16:2 "All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, but the Lord weighs the motives."
I wish for your life to be filled with God's love and blessing. And I want to share the grace with you through the message titled "My Appearance."
A person came to a shoes store to buy a pair of shoes. She picked up one, and tried on wearing them. But the one was exact but the other was bigger than her foot.
So, she chose other ones, and tried them on. But the result was the same. Both her feet were different in the size, but she had been accustomed to the difference for long, and she could not notice that she had an unbalanced foot.
In the same way, you may have some unbalanced aspects in your faith. But you may fail to notice your wrong points of faith when you look at yourself from your own viewpoint that has been framed for long. How then can you find those unbalanced aspects and change them?
First of all, you need to examine how proper and good your heart is in the sight of God who sees your inner heart.
Proverbs 16:2 says, "All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, but the Lord weighs the motives." That's why no matter how clean your deeds look you need to make yourself clean before God.
If you have ill feelings against the other, it proves that you have not accomplished goodness enough. You can discover various forms of evils including arrogance, falsehood, hatred, and envy from a single piece of word or a single deed. But you cannot do it when your heart has been branded for long, or you just pass it even though you have already discovered it.
Secondly, you fail to consider the other because you look at everything with your self-centered mind. You have to get rid of this aspect.
When you look at everything from your own shoes and standard, you do not consider the other and so you have miscommunications and ill feelings, and sometimes peace is broken. But you should not have ill feelings and misunderstanding against the other nor should judge or gossip against him. Whatever may be misunderstood, you must be able to consider and look at it with goodness from the other's viewpoint.
And you have to possess spiritual love that seeks others' benefits. If you have a desire to seek your own benefits, no matter how much you seem to pray for the kingdom of God and other souls, you fail to pray for the others' benefits because you look at everything from your own viewpoint.
Therefore, you have to demolish the frame of self, transcend the limitation of your flesh, and consider the other's heart with lover and goodness. Thus, may you lead as many souls to the Lord and receive honor and glory for ever and ever, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ I pray! |
