1. You will Receive Power when the Holy Spirit Comes Upon You

The Holy Spirit is the gift from God for His children and is the guarantee that we are God's children. Acts 2:38 says, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." 2 Corinthians 1:22 says, "who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee."
John 3:5-8 says, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." Just as we cannot see the wind although it is blowing, we cannot see the Holy Spirit although He exists. One who is born of the Holy Spirit has the evidence, but in most case we do not see discern it.
But still, we can feel the freshness and coolness of wind although we cannot see it. We can also see its direction watching the leaves or things that flap.
In the same way, although we cannot se the Holy Spirit, we can discern whether one has received Him or not and how full one is full of the Holy Spirit with the Word of God and spiritual evidence. Acts 2:1-4 explains about the Holy Spirit who came on the Pentecost. After the ascension of Jesus Christ, the disciples did not leave Jerusalem according to His word (Acts 1:4) and continued with one accord in prayer and supplication in the upper room where they were staying (Acts 1:12-14).
When the Pentecost came, after 50 days of Jesus resurrection, suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
As the received the baptism of the Holy Spirit like a rushing mighty wind or fire, then they spoke in divided tongues. At this time, Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven were all amazed and marveled (Acts 2:5-13). Peter came to bravely testify to Jesus Christ along with other 11 disciples, and three thousand people repented after listening to him (Acts 2:37-41). Peter even made a lame man walk (Acts 3:1-10). He performed many signs and wonders (Acts 5:1-16), preaching about Jesus Christ even under persecutions (Acts 4:1-22).
Likewise, if the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we can receive the power, perform signs and wonders, and testify to the living God and Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, who took the sufferings of the cross and resurrected, testified that He was living for 40 days and He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which, He said, "you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now" (Acts 1:3-5), and this was fulfilled by the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Pentecost.
Also, Acts 1:8 says, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." As said, the early church was established through the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Pentecost (Acts 2:42-47). The gospel was preached by the apostles to the end of the earth, so that now even the Gentiles know this gospel.

2. The Kinds of Works of the Holy Spirit

If you receive the Holy Spirit, your spirit that has been dead due to Adam's disobedience will be revived and you will gain life. You will give birth to spirit through the Holy Spirit and grow up as man of spirit as God's child to become the witness of the Lord. Let us, then, consider what kind of works the Holy Spirit does for God's children.

1. He teaches all things and brings to your remembrance all things.
Man is composes of spirit, soul, and body, and the soul works through the brain cells in the head. The memory device in the brain cells enable us to remember something and remind of them when necessary. People have different power of memory because their memory device is different and it grows old and senile as they get old.
Likewise, because human memory device is not perfect, we do not have perfect memory. But if we receive the Holy Spirit, we can remember everything precisely and perfectly with the power of the Holy Spirit. That is why John 14:26 says, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."
In order to receive these works of the Holy Spirit, we have to demolish all the theories that are against the Word of God and break every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. That is why 1 Corinthians 3: 18 says, "If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise."
Therefore, if we receive the Holy Spirit, we come to know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. We can be guided to wisdom and to become spiritual man because the Holy Spirit teach will teach us all things with truth and remind us of all the things that the Lord said.

2. He testifies that Jesus Christ is the Savior
Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He lets us know who Jesus is and testifies to Him who is eternal truth. Therefore, John 15:26 says, "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me."
In Matthew 16:15-17, Jesus asked His disciples who He was, and Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Then, Jesus said flesh and blood has not revealed this to him, but His Father who is in heaven. namely, it was impossible to know about Jesus without the Spirit of God.
Therefore, if we receive the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit testifies that Jesus Christ is our Savior who saved us from sins. Then, we can become the witnesses of the Lord to testify Jesus Christ.

3. He guides us into all truth and He tells us things to come.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth and truth itself. So He leads guides us into truth. If we are full of the Holy Spirit, namely the Spirit of God, we will prophesy and receive great help in our life in faith. That is why John 16:13 says, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."
If we are full of the Holy Spirit, we will speak as the Spirit of God guides us. So we will know the things to come so that we will be able to avoid tests and hardships wisely. We can prepare ourselves not to receive the works of Satan so that we will always lead a victorious life and everything will be prosperous with us.

4. He testifies that we are God's children
Before we receive the Holy Spirit, our spirits were dead, and we could not call God 'Father'. But if we receive the Holy Spirit, we give birth to spirit through the Holy Spirit reviving our dead spirit. To the extent that our dead spirits are revived, we come to know God and serve Him as our Father. That is why Romans 8:14-15 says that as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. And we did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but we received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
Likewise, the Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and leads us to live as God's children (Romans 8:16-17).

5. He helps in our weaknesses
Romans 8:26 says, "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." All our diseases are healed for Jesus was whipped for us. He also took our weaknesses and we can be healthy spiritually and physically. Therefore, those children of God who have received the Holy Spirit can lead a healthy life.
Peter, the first disciple of Jesus, denied the Christ due to the fear of death before he received the Holy Spirit. But after he received the Holy Spirit, he did not fear death but became a strong and brave man to preach the gospel. Likewise, because the Holy Spirit helps in our weaknesses, we can become strong and courageous by the fullness of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will help us in all aspects and we can become great men with the power of God.

6. He lets us pray according to God's will
1 Corinthians 2:10 says, "But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God." The Holy Spirit knows the heart of God. He wants everything to be done according to God's will. When God's children pray, He guides them to pray according to God's will.
Romans 8:27 says, "Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God." It is the best for everything to be done according to God's will. Therefore, when God's children pray, they should receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit so that He Himself can make intercession for the things that should be done.

7. He helps us bear fruit of the Holy Spirit
If we follow the desire of the Holy Spirit, we will not fulfill our fleshly desires but bear fruit of the Holy Spirit which are love, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, and against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23). Likewise, the Holy Spirit leads us to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit and to become a man of spirit who acts completely according to the will of God.
Therefore, God's children who have received the Holy Spirit should live like God's children with the help of the Holy Spirit and obey the works of the Holy Spirit relying on Him. I bless in the name of the Lord that you will always give glory to God and lead a blessed life as a witness of the Lord who has received God's power.
