It is easy to become arrogant if one is recognized or rises in position. The first king of Israel, Saul was humble before he became the king but became haughty as much as he threatened the prophet who enthroned him after he became the king. We should keep in mind that there are more accidents when people come down from a mountain than when they climb up. And we should have the saving grace of modesty by looking around and making our heart humble more when you are recognized and rise in position.
"Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, but humility goes before honor" (Proverbs 18:12).
