A boy became a member of a gangster group. Because he had attended church from the time he was very young he tried not to get involved in his friends' misbehavior, but he was not able to escape from the group due to his fondness for his friends. In the meantime, a dismal thought flashed through his mind; "If I die now, I cannot help but be dragged to Hell." In the end, he repented of his past wrongdoings and tried to live by the Word of God. Then, he was assured of his salvation and peace came to his heart. Similarly, when we repent of our sins with faith in Jesus Christ and live according to the Word of God, the assurance of salvation will be given to us (James 1:21).
