A superior known for his love and virtue at a workplace is always revered by his employees. It is not a solemn command or directive that opens the door to the other's heart and transforms it. An oppressive attitude can actually force the employee to shut her heart; she may follow her boss' directives but it will not be obedience stemming from her heart but coerced subordination. For truth is always made known, a clear difference will be known in rebuking of others between the attitude with which one scolds others to force them to unconditionally follow his will, and the heart by which one is truly considerate of the well-being of others.
"You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom" (Psalm 51:6). ~ from Dr. Jaerock Lee's column "Siloam" carried on the daily newspaper The Dong-a Ilbo
