Rain that falls on the earth penetrates the ground while some of it vaporizes and returns to the earth as rain. In these cycles, plants bud, grow, and in time bear fruit. When God's Word, which is the water of life, penetrates the field of man's heart, it sorts out such unnecessary objects as thorns and stones and makes the heart fertile. Just as the planting of seeds in fertile lands results in bearing of good fruit, when a man's heart becomes fertile, it will also bear spiritual fruit. When an individual's spirit prospers, every aspect of his life will prosper and he receive the blessings of good health and possess the eternal heaven.
"Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As the droplets on the fresh grass And as the showers on the herb" (Deuteronomy 32:2).
