In order for parents to sincerely be able to tell their children to be imitators of themselves, they must lead exemplary lives in all aspects. Since the apostle Paul was an imitator of Christ, his conduct and language were perfect in every way. He followed God's will with joy and thankfulness even in hardship. So he could boldly say, "Be imitators of me." We also can become good examples for other Christians to the extent that we resemble Jesus Christ. "Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1).
