King Solomon was the third king of Israel. He offered a thousand burnt offerings in earnest just before he became ruler over all Israel. The LORD was pleased with him and appeared to Solomon in a dream at night; and He said, "Ask what you wish me to give you." Solomon asked Him to give him an understanding heart to judge His people and to discern between good and evil. In the sight of God, it was very pleasing. So, God even gave Solomon what he had not asked of Him. He gave him both riches and honor (1 Kings 3:4-15). In the same manner, when we love God and please Him, we will also be the ones who receive such great blessings.
