If you listen to somebody with your own thoughts and feelings, you may make mistakes in conveying his words to another person. The meaning of the word "Why?" with a tone of gentleness in the voice and that of an upset voice is totally different. In the same way, when you convey some words, their meanings will be different according to your intonation and stress. So, when you listen to others, you must not mix your thoughts and feelings, but try to grasp the intentions exactly and convey it.
"But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment." (Matthew 12:36)
