Pride can express the sense of exalting oneself without being humble. God greatly blesses those who get rid of pride and have a humble heart. In Philippians 2:7, we find that such humble people don't repay evil for evil but empty themselves to take the form of a bond-servant. They take after the heart of Jesus Christ so that God answers them with blessing. Therefore, we should get rid of useless pride, the heart that desires to be exalted, and the heart to be served, and instead become humble people with whom God is pleased.
