In the Bible, there is a parable of the son who returned home after squandering his inheritance from his father. When his father, who had been waiting for him to come back home every day and night, saw him coming back from afar, the father ran and welcomed him so joyfully, and he celebrated it with a feast (Luke 15). With more love than this father's, God has been waiting a thousand years as though it was but a day with an eager heart for all mankind to acknowledge Him and come back to His arms.
"Behold, now is 'the acceptable time,' behold, now is 'the day of salvation'" (2 Corinthians 6:2).
