'Being at the other's eye level' means 'putting ourselves into the other's shoes'. What if we rebuke our children who are going astray? They will not either turn back or try to become a good child. We parents can find proper solutions when we first understand and measure our children's heart. It is because their heart is embedded in their actions that are revealed as a problem and the heart is more important than the actions. Therefore, when we parents put ourselves into their shoes and begin understanding their heart, they will feel our love and begin changing. It does not apply only to the relationship between parents and children. When we look at everything in the other's eyes and consider the other, we can have peaceful relationship with others. "... with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love..." (Ephesians 4:2)
