  The Most Cherished Possession 2008-09-22

If you could take to heaven one thing that you treasure most, what would it be? One of the last wishes of Alexander the Great, who conquered all the known world of his time, was to have "both my hands be kept dangling out of my coffin." This was to show the people that man does not take anything with him to his grave.
On the day that each of us closes out our lives in this world, only the spirit that will have donned the spiritual body will enter heaven. Even if we are somehow able to take such precious stones as gold or silver, they will be utterly useless in heaven.
Yet, there is one thing that will be truly valuable in heaven when we take it to heaven with us. That is "love." True love is accomplished as much as our hearts have taken after the heart of Jesus Christ. Only this love is everlasting and is the most cherished possession for all of us.
