There are more and more people these days who are trying to stop smoking. But if they happen to be in the company of smokers what happens? Chances are, they will end up smoking again saying, "Just one more puff!" Our life of faith is similar. For example, if you desire to stop speaking ill of others, then not only do you have to watch your own words, but you should avoid listening to bad things said about others. If you don't, you will find yourself joining them and the bad habits will become increasingly difficult to quit. It is like cutting off the reinforcements of the enemy in a battle. To have a heart of truth that God wants, we should have wisdom to be careful about what we see, hear and speak.
