Just 27 years after it had church planting service in a place as small as 66 square meters with 13 members, Manmin Central Church has grown into a big church hosting overseas crusades with hundreds of thousands or millions of attendees and with over 9,000 branch churches all around the world. The 27-year history of Manmin Church is the history of walking with God and has been praised by Christians worldwide.

With Overflowing Signs and Wonders, the Number of Members Reached 10,000 in 9 Years in God's Providence Hidden behind Trials

When Dr. Jaerock Lee was on the threshold of death with diseases in his thirties, he met God and was called to be servant of God. In obedience to God's calling, Pastor Jaerock Lee offered the church planting service with 13 members (children included) on July 25, 1982, on a scorching day in the middle of summer. As it is written in Job 8:7, "Though your beginning was insignificant, yet your end will increase greatly," this was the start of Manmin Central Church.
After meeting God the Healer, Pastor Jaerock Lee fasted as much as he ate, during his years as a student in seminary school.
He constantly cried out to God longing to receive the power of God as recorded in the Bible. And one day, his prayers were answered. He received the power of God, and God manifested signs and wonders through him. Diseases such as paralysis, cancer, arthritis, heart disease, lymphnoditis were healed, and the rains stopped when Pastor Lee prayed for good weather during church events.
As the news of his healing power spread, patients came from across the country. The sanctuary was so filled with people that there was no room to set another foot in it.
On October 10, 1982, when all kinds of fruits grew ripe and the first frost came, Manmin Church offered its establishing service with about 100 members.

As members worked hard to gather together and pray fervently just like the early church, the church experienced revival upon revival, and the number of members increased to 3,000 in January of 1987, and then to 10,000 in March of 1991.
The church had to move into a new sanctuary three times, because it was always packed with an increasing number of members.
Not long after its beginning, through its books, newspaper, and broadcasting ministries, Manmin Central Church grew in its mission. Dr. Jaerock Lee's testimonial memoir, 'Tasting Eternal Life before Death', was published. And beginning from May of that year, Manmin Joong-ang News, containing church news and members' testimonies, began to be issued into Korean.
Korea's Christian Broadcasting System (CBS) produced and aired a dramatized version of Rev. Dr. Lee's testimony while Rev. Dr. Lee himself made appearances on the CBS program "Renew Me" to testify about the living God.
As this became known to Korean churches, pastors, regardless of denomination, made visits to Manmin Church to learn the secret to church revival.
In 1989, while the church was enjoying revival and overflowing with blessings, it faced a trial. The Church faced a difficult situation. Dr. Jaerock Lee was excommunicated, and Manmin Church was expelled from its denomination. But the amazing wisdom of God was hidden in this difficult circumstance. Through this, the church was able to establish a new denomination, and begin working for national evangelism and world missions without any obstacles.

[The First Stage 1991.10.~] Arise and Shine

After establishing its new denomination, the church participated in many inland and overseas mission events including "The 1992 World Holy Spirit Explosion Crusade"

Dr. Jaerock Lee, inaugurated as chairman of the Korean United Holiness Church of Jesus Christ, actively participated in many Christian events.
Rev. Jaerock Lee ministered to the Korean churches as permanent president of World Christina Revival Mission Association and practical president of the Jubilee Crusade for the 50th Liberation Anniversary and the Reunification of South and North Korea, and contributed to national evangelism. In recognition of his mission work, Manmin Central Church was selected in 1993 as one of "The World's Top 50 Churches" by the Christian World magazine of the United States. And Rev. Lee was awarded a Doctorate of Ministry from Kingsway Theological Seminary in Iowa, U.S.A., in 1996.
Beginning in July of 1993 in Washington, D.C., the church began its overseas crusades have been held around the world with the messages titled "God the Creator" and "Jesus Christ", "The Message of the Cross", and "The Secret to the Revival of Manmin Central Church". And at each of the crusades, the works of God were manifested and the name of the living God was exalted.
At the end of 1994, the number of congregation exceeded 30,000, and in June of 1996, the church moved into a new sanctuary located in Gurodong in Seoul. The Annual Two-Week Revival Meetings and The Pastors' Education programs contributed to the spiritual growth of church members as well as the physical growth in the number of its members.
Through events like "The Korean-American Great Crusade & Ministers' Seminar" in Hawaii (1996), "The Great Crusade for the Blessing of Korean Residents in Argentina & Local Ministers' Seminar" in Argentina (1996), "The Great United Crusade" in Shinshu Province, Japan (1996), "The Joint Korean/American Crusade & The Evangelization Rally & Ministers Seminar" in Washington D.C.(1997)and Baltimore, Maryland, and "The Ministers' Seminar & Revival Meeting in Argentina" (1997), the glory of Our Lord was greatly revealed.
The three church-wide trials began in 1998 and reached their peak with the distorted and misrepresented news report produced and aired by one of Korea's leading broadcasting companies in 1999. However, this time of testing gave Manmin members a precious opportunity to pray to God all the more fervently and overcome countless persecutions as they continued to strive for goodness in their lives.
On January 1, 2000, "Manmin TV" was formed, and in March, the salty water of Muan turned into sweet water through Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer. The excellent quality and safety of this water was confirmed by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) of USA, and countless instances of healing have been reported by the use of this sweet water. Explosive works of God have been taking place transcending time and space through the prayers received with the handkerchiefs of God's power, through television broadcasts, and through photographs. And beginning with the 2000 Uganda Church Leaders' Conference and Crusade which was covered by a worldwide news channel CNN, the era of world evangelism began.



Just 10 years after its establishment, Manmin Church grew into a mega church with 17,000 registered members. Outdoor event in celebration of Church's 10th Anniversary (October 11, 1992)



At the 1992 World Holy Spirit Explosion Crusade, Rev. Jaerock Lee read the Scripture, Rev. Hyungyun Shin delivered the message and Rev. Yongki Cho led the prayer meeting.
The crusade was supported by the Nissi Orchestra, members of the choir, and 400 volunteers from Manmin Central Church.

[The Second Stage 2000.10. ~] Unceasing Works of the Holy Spirit

Dr. Jaerock Lee came to be known as a world-renowned revivalist for leading overseas crusades in many countries including Pakistan, India, Russia, and the USA, even preaching the holiness gospel in Israel, the actual birthplace of the gospel.
In October 2000, the holiness gospel rang out over the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the door of the gospel to the Middle East was opened. Many diseases such as AIDS were healed at the 2001 Kenya Holy Gospel Crusade, Jesus Christ was preached to so many Catholics at the 2001 Philippine Spark of Revival Crusade, the 2002 Honduras Miracle Healing Crusade brought a hurricane of the Holy Spirit throughout Central America, and at the 2002 Miracle Healing Prayer Festival in India which was attended by over 3 million people, numerous souls were healed and converted to Christianity.
The 2003 Russia Miracle Healing Festival was officiated as one of the official events of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg and broadcast to 150 countries around the world via satellite. And through the 2004 Germany Healing Festival, the holiness gospel spread throughout Europe. And the 2004 Peru Healing Crusade was held with the support of government leaders, the press, and Christian churches and organizations in Peru.
The 2006 DR Congo Miracle Healing Festival was held with positive support of the government of DR Congo and was attended by over 700,000 people. Countless Biblical miracles were manifested and many gave glory to God. And at 2006 New York Crusade, which was held in the world-renowned Madison Square Garden, in New York, the blind came to see, the deaf came to hear, and the crippled came to walk through powerful prayer. And this amazing power of God was broadcast to 200 counties through DayStar of USA, TBN-Russia, CosmoVision, and GCN.
In July of 2007, the Israel mission began. Dr. Jaerock Lee traveled to Israel. From Galilee, the northern part of Israel, to Eilat, the southernmost part of Israel, and while preaching the holiness gospel, Dr. Lee manifested amazing works of God's power.
And finally, in September of 2009, the 2009 Israel United Crusade was held at ICC (International Convention Center), in Jerusalem, the birthplace of the gospel and Dr. Jaerock Lee boldly preached the message titled "Why Jesus Is Our Only Savior." And when Dr. Jaerock Lee prayed for the sick, countless people were healed and gave glory to God. This festival received great interest from world-renowned media groups including ANS, AFP and Reuters, and was broadcast to 220 nations through 33 satellite broadcasters including Enlace, TBN-Russia, and DayStar of USA. This was the fruit of all the earnest prayers of Manmin Church members worldwide.

A New Step toward World Evangelism and the Construction of Canaan Sanctuary and Grand Sanctuary

For the last 27 years, the head of Manmin Central Church, which has been testifying about the living God through signs and wonders to a generation that won't believe without clear evidences, was Jesus Christ. Now, what is Manmin's next step, after spreading the gospel to the remotest part of the earth?
With a heart like Christ, Manmin will continue marching on for national evangelism and world missions until the will of God the Father is accomplished. And just as the Israelites were blessed to enter into the land of Canaan after 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, Manmin members who have stronger faith through refinement are preparing for the Canaan Sanctuary. Just as the name symbolizes, the sanctuary will give Manmin members rest and peace, and it will be a blessed place flowing with milk and honey.
After completing the Canaan Sanctuary, all Manmin members will gather their wisdom and strength to construct the Grand Sanctuary and spread God's glory to the whole world. And Manmin will continue to march on until the earth is covered with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
