From February 22 to 24, Students' Winter Retreat 2018 was held so that students could receive power to pray and experience joy and fullness of the Spirit during winter vacation.
At 10:30 a.m. in the opening service on the first day, Pastor Changmin Kim, Principal of Students' Sunday School, preached a message entitled "Power of Love" based on Mark 10:27. He urged the students to come forth as the fruit of renewal through the power of love that God, the Lord, and the shepherd had shown to them.
At 2:30 p.m., they had a seminar with Rev. Heesun Lee, Manmin World Guidance Pastor as the speaker. She delivered the message "Spiritual Realm" taken from Genesis 1:1. She told them to believe and stay aware of the existence of the spiritual realm. She also advised them to set a specific goal in everything and work hard with unchanging obedience.
After the seminar, Sister Hayoung Kim, 11th grader, said, "I came to understand how to set a proper goal in faith." On the second day, they had the Athletic Meet in Seoul Digital Grounds near Gasan Digital station at 11 a.m. Though it was still winter, it stayed very warm and nice during the event. Sister Yuna Lee, 8th grader, stated, "It snowed and rained yesterday but by the prayer of Senior Pastor we are enjoying the spring-like weather. I am excited!"
At 11 p.m. on the same day, they attended Friday All-night Service held in the main sanctuary until 4 a.m. Saturday. During the first half, the Nazareth Choir that consists of students, sang the song, "Shiny Waves" with dance. They listened attentively to the sermon and lifted their voices saying, 'Amen' in reply. After a 30-minute break, the second half session "Praise and Prayer" started. Each grade mission came to the front of the altar with signs and praised earnestly. Sister Hyerim Lee, 12th grader, said, "I felt happiness and joy praising that I had never felt in the world."
At 3 p.m. on the last day, Pastor Heejin Lee, Chairperson of Performing Arts Committee, led Praise and Worship for them. Pastor Lee delivered the love of God and urged them to develop various skills and be used as workers for the kingdom of God. After her message, they praised with Manmin Praise. They were in tears, high emotions and joy with hope for heaven.
Sister Jaeeun Lee, 10th grader, said, "Pastor Lee taught us how to achieve our dreams. She also shared the love of the Lord that she had experienced. I received much grace. I was also happy to praise jumping and dancing."
At 9 p.m. they attended Daniel Prayer Meeting. Manmin Prayer Center President Boknim Lee led the prayer in fullness of the Spirit, and pastors helped them pray. They experienced the Spirit's works of repentance, speaking in tongues, and receiving the fiery baptism of the Spirit. They testified to their experiences saying, "I prayed without knowing the passage of time," "I received the Spirit's baptism of fire," "I spoke in tongues when Mrs. Lee prayed for me," "I was strengthened to stay away from the worldly things," and with many similar professions overflowing.
Sister Jihyun Baek, President of High School Mission, said, "I engraved the tears and love of God, the Lord, and the shepherd in my heart all the more and made up my mind to come forth as the fruit of the shepherd. We have listened to the word of life and experienced the power of God, so we will be always good examples and loved by people everywhere we go."
Manmin's students received the fullness of the Holy Spirit and power of love from God and the Lord during the retreat, and they made up their minds to come forth quickly as beautiful fruit. Let's give all thanks and glory to God.
