On Sunday, September 4, at 6 pm, the ‘21st Bible Quiz’ hosted by the Men’s United Mission was held at the GCN studio while it was being broadcast live on the Internet (Photo 3).



The scope of the quiz competition was set to 365 verses (July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022) of the ‘Word of the Day’ published in the Church Weekly. After the Sunday Evening Service on July 17, the Central Church and the branch church members went through a preliminary on YouTube live, and a total of 41 people competed in the finals. As a result, 19 people advanced to the last final.
After the Sunday Evening Service on September 18, there was its award ceremony. The grand prize was awarded to Pastor Namsook Huh (Daejeon Manmin Church, Photo 1), Gold prize was awarded to Pastor Heungyoung Park (Daejeon Manmin Church), Silver prize went to Deaconess Gyehwa Jang (Chinese Parish), and Bronze prizes went to Pastor Jinyoung Jeong (the 13th Parish Pastor) and Deaconess Gyehyeon Ahn (Daejeon Manmin Church), while Deacon Kyeongseok Goh (Men’s Mission), Deacon Ildoo Kim (Canaan Mission), and Deaconess Hyejeong Huh (Women’s Mission) received the encouragement prize, respectively. The Inspiring prize which is given to the oldest and the youngest went to Deaconess Chunrye Kim and Wonbin Seo (Gwangju Manmin Church), and the Group prize was won by the 2nd Great Grand Parish (Photo 2).



Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee has been urging the members to read at least one chapter of the Bible and memorize one verse every day along with the spiritual study of the Word.

Daejeon Manmin Church has taken part in the Bible Quiz since 2003 when the participation was extended to local churches.
We have produced several grand prize winners so far, and some have won twice or even three times. It is one of the joys of Daejeon Manmin Church to receive a group prize every year and to hold a rice-cake feast for all the members with the award money.

As I participate in this trend, I have received many big and small prizes ranging from Gold to Inspiring, and this year I was honored to receive the Grand Prize.
Daejeon Manmin Church has been collecting and testing the Words to recite once a month since December 2002, and it will be 20 years this November. This process helped me a lot in advancing to the finals, and above all, I was able to receive awards every year since studying with the finalists at Daejeon Manmin Church. I think it is the merit of Daejeon Manmin Church that each of us shares everything we know without any self-interest and empowers each other, so that we have many winners.

Father God always showed us a rainbow when Daejeon Manmin Church received a big prize. This year too, in the morning of August 28, one week before the competition, God showed a circular rainbow, so we expected that it would bring good news to Daejeon. Then, I was very grateful that God allowed me to receive this big award, and that we received the gold and bronze prizes at Daejeon Manmin Church.
I am grateful to the members who encouraged us with prayer and support, and who rejoiced together, and I am even more grateful for I think this joy is Father God’s great comfort for Daejeon Manmin Church.
