[People] The amount of love we give may seem small, but the amount received is great

Our Lord said, "Love your neighbor as yourself," in Matthew 23:39. When we share the grace of the Lord with our neighbors, the joy becomes doubled. The Lord also showed us good examples of service.
There are many members today, leading happy lives through sharing and service. They do volunteer work in their group and or volunteering organization. The following are three missions that are serving members with their talents.

People Who Know the Joy and Happiness of Volunteering - Manmin Volunteers' Mission

Manmin Volunteers' Mission is a volunteer organization of Manmin Central Church. One hundred and twenty eight volunteers, including the Pesident, Elder Eunrae Chung, and two Vice Presidents, Deacon Sukwan Kong and Deaconess Haeryun Roh, are devoting themselves. The Volunteers' Mission has been in charge of directing traffic and parking at various church events. They've also been dispatched to help clean up heavy snow in Jangseong Gun, Jeonnam Province, and the oil spill in the Taean Sea. In addition to these activities, they do many volunteer works, including directing traffic and parking in the general vicinity of the church, pushing wheelchairs for patients, cleaning the sanctuary, handing out weekly bulletins before service, preparing lunch, washing the dishes, etc.
The Manmin Volunteers' Mission consists of the Hallelujah Volunteers' Mission, the Sisters' Volunteers' Mission, and Joshua Volunteers' Mission, whose members are men, women, and young adults respectively. They are also made up of a banner team, dancing team, and band.
In order to become a member of the Volunteers' Mission, one must keep the Sabbath holy, give entire tithes, and maintain a healthy body. And in order to become a member of the Hallelujah Volunteers' Mission, one must have over one year experience as a deacon. After registering with the church, if one is qualified, he is given a probation period of 6 months as a candidate. Then after an evaluation by a mentoring guidance pastor and a board of all the leaders, he is officially inducted into the Hallelujah Volunteers' Mission. Prospective members of the Hallelujah and Sisters' Volunteers' Missions and Joshua Volunteers' Mission must meet the same requirements, except for those under the age of thirty, who do not have to be deacons or deaconesses. Those interested should contact President Eunrae Chung at 82-11-485-1203 or Vice President Sukwan Kong at 82-10-8014-8013.

Luke Medical Mission - Caring for Patients with the Love of the Lord

The Luke Medical Mission was established to plant faith and hope in members suffering from diseases through the use of medical data that testify to the power of God manifested by Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee. The Luke Medical Mission, which started with a medical doctor and three nurses in 1999, now consists of people working in the medical field, such as medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists, medical technicians, physical therapists, radiologists, dentists, dental hygienists, and the like. Just like the Evangelist Luke, who, as a medical doctor, wrote the Gospel of Luke in the Bible, they are working hard with a desire in their heart to faithfully accomplish the Lord's works with their talents.
They collect evidence from cases of healing that has taken place through the power of God and testify about the living God. They collect testimonies from patients during the church's Divine Healing Meetings led by Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee. And when emergencies happen, they provide their medical expertise in first aid, emergency care, nursing, and counseling patients about their diseases. And because so many people of various backgrounds gather in the church, they seek to prevent any health related problems. Outside the church, they visit needy neighbors and nursing homes, and provide free treatment. Seeing our members live by the word, have faith, and experience the healing works of God, the Luke Medical Mission members hope that everyone will lead a healthy life by believing in God and living within His word. Anyone who has the spirit of love and dedication and is currently working or has worked in the medical field can register and work as a member. For more information, contact Deaconess Kyungsu Hong, the General Manager of the Mission, at 82-10-3392-2073.

Design Mission - Decorating the Sanctuary of God with Our Hands

The volunteers of the Design Mission consist of art and design majors as well as those who just have an aptitude and interest in this field.
In December 1994, in an effort to decorate God's sanctuary, members working in this field started with the name "Art Mission." Their activities include decorating the sanctuary for Christmas, designing the stage for the Easter Cantata, designing works during anniversary events, putting together banners in the second and third sanctuaries, and working at various church events.
As the church events draw nearer, they come to church right after work and work all night long for several days. But when they see their works completed and the sanctuary beautifully decorated, their fatigue fades away. And they are overjoyed when they see members rejoice and experience the beauty of heaven and the Lord's love through their work. Prospective members must be baptized and have an aptitude and interest in design. They can become a member after being interviewed. There is no registration procedure. For more information, contact Deaconess Minkyung Choi at 82-10-3866-3709, Deaconess Changmi Kim at 82-10-3407-7707, or Deacon Songyul Ryu at 82-19-218-4830.

The Hairdressers' Mission - Offering Free Haircuts to the Neglected with Love

The Hairdressers' Mission was established in 1994 by former and current hairdressers. They renew their faith through worship services and monthly gatherings and share and improve their skills as a hairdresser through seminars and various programs.
To this day, the Hairdressers' Mission provides free haircuts to not only patients in hospitals, but homeless or ICU (intensive care unit) patients who don't have families who care for them. They also visit rural towns and villages, spreading the gospel by holding Christian events that offer free hair-cuts and perms.
After learning about the Hairdresser's Mission, one pastor ministering at a church in Cheorwon, Gang-won Province, who had been receiving grace through our church's sermons, invited them to his church to hold revival meetings and services. They are also invited to events for the physically challenged and elderly, and they visit nursing homes and provide haircuts and perms. Every month, they visit the physically challenged elderly and provide hair services. Even though they may be doing what they usually do, they feel a special joy when they provide services to the disabled and needy. They also provide hair styling for the church performers during church events.
The Hairdressers' Mission is working ever more vigorously to spread the gospel with haircutting services, and is looking for new members who work in this field (make-up, massage, nail art). Anyone who has worked, or is working as a hairdresser can apply and become a member. For more information, call Deaconess Malrae Lee, the President of the Hairdressers' Mission, at 82-10-6807-7279.
