World Evangelization by Means of Continual and Fervent Prayers

It is no exaggeration to say that the history of Manmin has been by the works of prayer. The sources for the rapid revival and growth of Manmin Central Church until this 28th anniversary are the Spirit-filled messages, manifestations of God's power and fervent prayers.
Prayer is the breath of our spirit and the key to God's answers, and when we pray to God, we can receive the strength by which we are able to live by the Word of God. Jesus cried out in prayer until His sweat became like drops of blood falling down upon the ground. Following His example, Dr. Jaerock Lee, Senior Pastor of Manmin Central Church went up to mountains and cried out in prayer even in his early days of faith. He prayed, fasted and offered all night prayers so that he might completely fulfill the duty of a servant of the Lord
As soon as the church was founded in 1982, the church was set ablaze with the passion of prayers and church members followed the example of his prayer and enjoyed gathering at the temple of God and praying to God. By this fervent prayer, 77 days after its founding they offered the establishing service to God and began to accomplish rapid revival. The sanctuary of 33m² (356 ft²) has a couple of small prayer rooms, and there was a long line of people in front of the prayer rooms all the time. When they gathered in the sanctuary and prayed fervently, their heat of their prayer caused drops of water to form on the ceiling even in cold winter temperatures and then the drops of water fell to the ground. Not only adult members but also young men and students gathered to pray.

"I was a middle school student when Manmin Church was founded. I remember shortly after school I went to church along with my friends to pray as usual. We prayed for an hour that Manmin Church might accomplish world evangelization and the Students' Mission might be a partaker of that duty. If a new believer came, we knelt around him and, laying our hands on him, we would eagerly pray with love for an hour for him to be born of water and the Spirit." (Deacon Suntae Baik, 41)

In the January of 1985, the Prayer Devotees' Mission was organized to devote themselves to praying for the kingdom and righteousness of God. They gathered at the sanctuary and prayed from 10:30 until 12:00 in the morning and from 1 to 3 in the afternoon. They prayed twice every day from Monday through Friday, and attended Daniel Prayer Meeting every night. The number of prayer devotees is now 170. They have been praying for such topics as the church, the shepherd, national evangelization, world mission, construction of the sanctuary, and so on.
In October of 1985, Mrs. Boknim Lee, President of Manmin Prayer Center and church members began gathering at the sanctuary and praying every night. This was the beginning of Daniel Prayer Meeting. In the beginning they prayed 3 hours from 11 PM until 1 AM, but they recently pray from 9:00 PM until 11:40 PM. They have prayed for the nation (South Korea) and its people, construction of the sanctuary, and the vision of world evangelization. Now thousands of church members attend this Daniel Prayer Meeting every night and it is broadcast live to the world by GCN via satellites and the Internet.

After the Daniel Prayer Meeting, the Savory Dish Prayer Meeting is held from midnight until 1 AM for those who finish their work late. In addition, each district has Tuesday Prayer Meeting in the local areas where they live. Each mission and parish holds prayer meetings whenever necessary. This is how church members have a chance to experience the power of prayer offered in unity. These various prayer meetings and personal prayer have enabled all kinds of church events, big or small, to be held wonderfully for the glorification of God as well as for the church to overcome all kinds of trials with goodness and turn the trials into blessings.

"In 1992, Midnight Prayer Meeting was begun by members of Men's Mission who returned from work too late to participate in the Daniel Prayer Meeting. Later it was renamed 'Savory Dish Prayer Meeting.' We held fast to the biblical teachings telling us to pray fervently, earnestly and loudly. We prayed with sweat, even in winter, for the church and to receive the answer to our prayer." Through the fervent prayers offered by all brothers and sisters of the church, Manmin Central Church has expanded its ministry—broadcasting ministry, book ministry, MIS (Manmin International Seminary), and WCDN (World Christian Doctors Network). They have led countless souls to the path of salvation, spread the holiness gospel to all corners of the earth and have shown many powerful works of God.
When Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee conducted crusades in Uganda, Japan, Pakistan, Kenya, the Philippines, Russia, Peru, Germany, DR Congo, and New York in the USA, and during his 3-year Israeli ministry from the July of 2007 until the September of 2009, church members moved the throne of God with their fervent prayers and all those special missionary tasks were successfully fulfilled by great works of God. The incense of their prayers they have stored since the founding of the church has caused their souls to prosper and allowed for them to succeed in everything they did. They enjoy good health and many members let their testimonies overflow in their homes, work places and businesses.

In preparation of the opening of the church, Pastor Jaerock Lee offered many vowed prayers and periods of fasting to God to receive interpretations of the 66 books of the Bible that were as exact as possible. Anyone can read the Bible, but not everyone can understand spiritual meanings embedded in it. The will and heart of God embedded in it can be understood only by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. One of the most important factors in the fast growth of Manmin Central Church is the holiness gospel that gives life to the souls and allows for sanctification through God's Word. Sanctification is the will of God for us and holiness is the ultimate purpose for which Jesus shed His blood and redeemed us from our sins.

"Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it." (1 Thessalonians 5:19-24 NKJV)

Sanctification is power in the spiritual realm. We will be able to manifest greater works of the Holy Spirit to the extent we become sanctified. We are able to experience the spiritual realm that transcends the limitations of the physical world and always go the way of blessings. Those who become wholly sanctified can enter the City of New Jerusalem where the throne of God is located.
For the last 28 years, God has given us deeper levels of the holiness gospel for our spiritual growth and from 1993 through 2004, God led us to long for the spiritual realm and come forth as men of spirit and whole spirit by holding a Two-week Special Revival Meeting every year. Above all else, Senior Pastor Jaerock Lee has shown the flock a good example of practicing the Word of God and taught them to walk in the Light. As a result, many church members turned into 'grain-like believers' and are successful in everything they do, they enjoy good health and their souls prosper.

The first issue of Manmin Newspaper was printed on May 17, 1987 and as of 2010, it is translated and printed in 16 languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, French and Portuguese. Manmin Newspaper is conveying Manmin's testimonies and ministry to the world.

In the April of 1990, Dr. Lee's sermons began being broadcast on radio to the whole nation of South Korea and also to the world by the Far East Broadcasting Corporation, Korea and many radio stations in USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Sakhalin of Russia. In 2004, GCN was organized for the worldwide broadcasting ministry, and in 5 years after its launching, it has networked with 3,300 broadcasting stations in 176 nations, and is broadcasting the holiness gospel 24 hours a day.
