[Biblical Common Sense] Do Angels Really Exist?

God has created the invisible spiritual realm in addition to the physical world visible to our naked eyes. Just as there are many beings in existence in the physical world, the same is true of the spiritual realm and the most prominent of the spiritual beings are angels. The term "angel" appears 190 times (in the New American Standard Bible) in more than half of the 66 books of the Bible. As the Bible is the truth itself, the existence of angels of whom it speaks is also true.
As "ministering spirits" (Hebrews 1:14), angels serve in various capacities. They number in "myriads" (Hebrews 12:22; Psalm 68:17), and according to the role each angel is to carry out, there is a strict order and organization to which all the angels adhere (1 Thessalonians 4:16; 1 Peter 3:22). As attendants of God, angels' primary function is to assist Him with the cultivation of mankind through which He is to gain true children with whom He can exchange love. Archangels, as heads of all angels, oversee a variety of aspects at God's side, report directly to Him, and receive instructions from God Himself.
Well-known archangels include Archangel Michael and Archangel Gabriel. Equivalent to a civil officer, Archangel Gabriel serves as a messenger who brings God's great answers, revelations of His Providence and plans, and secrets (Daniel 9:21-23; Luke 1:19). Archangel Michael, on other hand, serves as a military officer who commands the heavenly host and aids God's people in their spiritual battles (Daniel 10:13-14; Jude 1:9, Revelation 12:7-8).
There are also angels who report to God all of our every-day activities (Matthew 18:10) and those who bring up to God the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the believers (Revelation 8:3-5). Other angels protect and keep watch over God's children (Hebrews 1:14) and still others assist God's children in their times of difficulty (Daniel 6:22; Acts 12:6-11). There are also angels and heavenly host entrusted with praising God (Psalm 148:2) and angels who bring down destruction retribution of one's sins (2 Samuel 24:16; Acts 12:23).
If God should open our spiritual eyes, we will see angels (Numbers 22:23). When He brings out the angels in the spiritual realm into the physical world, we will be able to see angels with our naked eyes (Genesis 19:1-22; Acts 12:7-10).
