What is power?

Power refers to ‘authority and might’. ‘Authority’ is referred to as majestic, glorious power, and ‘might’ as the power of faith where nothing is impossible with God. ‘Wonders’ and ‘signs’ accompany those with this kind of power. Depending on the level of power, ‘extraordinary miracles’ and ‘remarkable things’ also appear.


“God has spoken once,
Twice I have heard this:
That power belongs to God,” (Psalm 62:11).


Wonders control the weather!

Wonders are the works of God, controlling the weather.
It is the power to move any heavenly bodies including stars and to control atmospheric phenomena such as snow, rain, wind, cloud, temperature, and air pressure.
In the Bible, Prophet Samuel prayed and God sent thunder and rain (1 Samuel 12:18). The prayer of Prophet Isaiah brought a shadow ten degrees backward (2 Kings 20:11). When Prophet Elijah prayed there was no rain for three and a half years, and when he prayed again, rain came down (1 Kings 17-18; James 5:17-18).
If the sun and stars were to be moved, this would be a phenomenon transcending the law of nature. God needs to approve these wonders at the right time and in the right conditions. Those who attain to a level of power do not randomly perform powerful works as they know God’s heart and will.


Signs of God’s power

Signs refer to God’s power being revealed beyond human abilities.
By God’s power, the blind come to see, the mute to speak, the hearing impaired to hear, short limbs are lengthened, and healing works of polio or cerebral palsy occur. Signs include all these.
The power that manifests these signs is different from the gift of healing that cures diseases. The gift of healing cures various illnesses that medication can cure, such as cold and flu, cancer, and lung disease. But God’s power can heal incurable diseases.
Sometimes, healing works can take place by the gift of healing, or through the power of spiritual love or from prayers of the righteous. However, miraculous signs take place by those who have the power of God according to faith based on whole sanctification of the heart and fiery prayers.


Extraordinary miracles and remarkable things

Through Apostle Paul, ‘extraordinary miracles’ were performed. Acts 19:11-12 says, “And God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out.”
‘Remarkable things’ include the Ten Plagues that Moses performed in Egypt (Exodus 7-12) and Jesus’ healing of a paralyzed person (Luke 5:17-26).
In addition to the works recorded in the 66 books of the Bible, extraordinary miracles and remarkable things can happen in a number of ways by the power of God, who is the same yesterday and today. Many in our church, both in Korea and all over the world, are experiencing amazing works through the handkerchief of power, and thus various diseases are healed and vision and hearing impairment is made well. This is due to the love and power of God the Trinity who desires everyone to be saved.
