Deaconess Youngsuk Choi (2-17 Parish, South Korea)

In May, 1997 I was in the sixth month of pregnancy with my second child. A test revealed that my child had deformities.
I didn't know what to do and I was in deep desperation. By accident, my eyes came upon the poster of the Dr. Jaerock Lee's 5th two-week Consecutive Revival Meeting held in Manmin Central Church. I had already heard from an acquaintance that signs, wonders, and powerful works including many divine works of healing had happened in the church. Being able to rely only on God, I finally attended the Revival Meeting.

On the day I went, I received a lot of grace through Dr. Lee's preaching and repented that I hadn't lived by the Word of God. I received Dr. Lee's prayer to deliver a healthy baby and I became at peace. On the last day of the meeting, I registered in Manmin Central Church. In fact, my doctor said there was no chance at all that my child would not be a baby with deformities. But on September 10 that same year, I delivered a healthy son. He is now an 11th grader. Hallelujah!

My husband also registered in Manmin in 1999, but he didn't attend church. He made a great deal of money in the wholesale business of fresh fish. He opened a big restaurant in 2004. However, it didn't go as he wanted. He drank a lot of alcohol and lapsed into gambling. He turned violent and ended up closing the restaurant.

In 2008 he frequently stayed out overnight. When he did come home he was always drunk and we always argued. My two children lived in fear and anxiety. I was driven deeper and deeper into a bad situation. Still, I thought that God wouldn't be pleased if I divorced and it might also cause Senior Pastor Dr. Lee to feel pain. I patiently endured all those things. At times my husband seemed to feel sorry for and occasionally he attended the Sunday Morning Service. My children and I prayed for him and received Dr. Lee's prayer in 2009. We offered up 21-day vowed prayer.

In the meantime, I came to see myself. I had blamed everything on my husband.
I realized that I hadn't cared what my husband had felt or what a heavy sense of responsibility he shouldered as the head of our family. I thought of how painful and lonely he had felt and tears of repentance unceasingly flowed down on my face. From then, I tried to watch over the words coming from my lips and give thanks in everything. Then, darkness was driven away from my family and my husband changed.

In 2010, my husband saw a horrible place, Hell, in his dream. To my surprise, on the same day, my son dreamt that he saved his father from Hell. Hearing it from son, my husband felt a chill of fear.

After that he kept the whole Sabbath holy. He also stopped his drinking, smoking, gambling, and using foul language. He was changed! He prepared offerings with his heart for every service and his attitude and actions changed. Before he was baptized, he prepared himself for the baptism with his heart and dedication. He also longed for the duty of deacon so he tried his best to be eligible for it.

Eventually in December, 2013, he was listed as a deacon of Manmin Central Church. He was overwhelmed with joy. Deacon Sedong Kim, my husband, again started up the wholesale business of fresh fish and he tries hard to provide customers with the best service he can. We talk about things related to faith and my husband prays before going to work. My children feel so happy seeing him. It feels like a dream to have a family full of laughter. I give all thanks and glory to God who gave me true happiness.
